In November 2020, it’s not just the presidency that’s at stake. It’s also the control of the Senate. 35 Senate seats are up for election on November 3: 12 Democrat incumbents and 23 Republican incumbents (along with two special elections).  Below is a list of the 10 most vulnerable Republican incumbents. These are the seats that may be the easiest to flip on election day.

Even asking that second question would have seemed fanciful just a couple of months ago. But now it’s “becoming a real possibility,” reports National Public Radio (NPR).

They have controlled both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue for just two of the past 25 years, as compared to six for Republicans.  The rightward imbalance has had an outsized impact on our courts and on the fight for the forgotten – but 2020 is the year that Democrats can win it all again.

Five senators are staring down serious political danger ahead of the November elections.  With less than six months to go until Election Day, the battle for control of the Senate hinges on five key states. Democrats are after four seats in particular — in Arizona, Colorado, Maine and North Carolina — while Republicans are largely playing defense, but see an easy pickup opportunity in Alabama.

Control of the Senate could be within Democrats’ grasp this November.  A Senate map that once looked out of reach has become a lot more competitive in the past few months. With former Vice President Joe Biden likely at the top of the ticket as the Democratic nominee for president and a once-humming economy cratering due to the coronavirus , Republicans acknowledge the political landscape looks much different.

Is there a more villainous character currently in Congress than Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell? It may be a tough call, with people like Jim Jordan, Louie Gohmert, and Tom Cotton roaming the halls. But McConnell has done much to earn that distinction, starting with blocking even a floor discussion of Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland during the final year of the Obama presidency, citing a nonexistent tradition , then bragging nothing would hold him back if another vacancy came up during the last year of Trump’s tenure. “Oh, we’d fill it,” McConnell told an appreciative Chamber of Commerce audience in his home state of Kentucky last year, as reported by the New York Times.

According to a report from Politico, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), as well as other Republican higher-ups, are fearful of losing their Senate majority in the November election with the Democrats about to put forward a strong slate of candidates backed by cash-rich warchests.

Getting rid of Donald Trump in order to put the country back on its feet is undoubtedly Democrats' key goal in the 2020 elections . Retaking the presidency would, of course, be a major victory, but in order for Democrats to enact the game-changing policies they have promised, winning back the U.S. Senate is equally crucial.
